LUMIPro 2018 Beta

Thank you beta testers!   I mean seriously, THANK YOU!  There is so much about Linden's scripting language that somehow seems to behave differently with me and it seems that no how much testing I do with an alt, it just doesn't tend to find all the bugs.  It is you guys that help make LUMIPro one of the more solid scripted HUDS on SL.   Again, did I say thank you!?

I'm not expending 6-7 betas like I did a couple years ago getting the scene system together.  That was painful.  It was because it touched so much of the overall code.  This time the changes were mostly centered in the color scripts and since I  did some planning a couple years ago, the scene system didn't need any changes to support the customer colors.

So what is this beta about?  Is about color!  I found myself and had other people say the same, that they had certain "signature colors" that they tended to use as their go-to colors when they did work.  There wasn't an easy way to revive a prior favorite color except through the scene system.  Now there is a "save" button on the color flyout and a new category of colors exists called "favorites".  You can name your color and the color propagates through the scene and backup systems.

Due to memory constraints, you can save about 35-50 favorite colors, but do people really have more favorite colors than that?  lol

As far as best testing goes, please watch the briefing video below.  If you find a bug or have some basic feedback on the look and feel or things are not obvious please submit your bug to here.

The beta1 window is scheduled for 2 weeks and we'll then give you an update and let you know.  check back to this blog for more details. We would also like to ask if you are a blogger please feel free to discuss the new features, but please keep the bugs you find during beta for the submission form. You guys are amazing!

Thank you
---Stefan!!

Beta3 Update

So i was shooting as part of beta2 testing and found the gobo a little harsh. so i played with the gobo transparency and found it could soften it quite a bit.  Sadly it doesn't' seem like the rendering system is capable of more than "soft" and "harsh" but still it was kinda cool.  So i added it to the system.

Beta3 change list:
  4 more scripts removed
Joystick outside buttons now work for face lights
displays the unique name of the avi if the avi teleports or goes offline until the model is assigned
restoring presets only now properly reports the last backup date
wearable backup server does not display text when worn on every teleport
  Soft and harsh projectors

2016 Beta6

Beta6 is super close to final release.  I expect there to be one more release after this called "RC1" for "release candidate 1" but the expectation is this release is final and from here i'm just making sure nothing broke and things are correct.  I've fixed a few issues from beta5 around projectors no derezzing, backup servers not restoring right, etc.    There is now a new option command to flush all the demo poses out of your hud.

I'm gunning to have this release out the door next week, so any feedback needs to come FAST!

Submit any issues on the beta checkout to https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1N_rmeRC8SwlexlKcoAkHE2Bsx2JsjJlBVHNbg2jGboo/viewform?c=0&w=1

LUMIPro 2016 Beta6 release notes:
  • Backup server now attachable and works in zero rez sims.
  • Naming a preset with /42 does not change the save date on a preset
  • Add option menu item to delete demo poses
  • Bug fix:  changing animations while on a model other than owner reverts back to owner.
  • Various bug fixes around the backup server
  • Partial set of new poses included in this release

Couple shots i did during beta6 testing with Sammie using sitballs and saved presets

2016 Beta5

OMG this is getting close to final beta.  Just a small number of issues around the backup/restore server.  Sorry beta4 had a couple problems that led to a lot of bug reports.  But thank you THANK YOU for staying patient with me.

Beta5 change list

  1. Adjusted warning thersholds for pose memory (thanks Aida)
  2. Moving to production config.  Presets no longer flying out.  Alpha config back to default
  3. Reduced script count and memory by moving several buttons to a common script.
  4. Allows clicking the yellow model text area to bring up a list of models (same as models button)
  5. Tuned the sitball thresholds for restore and movement to make it work better in real situations and movement greater than 10m
  6. Sit ball movement set against initial photographer position.  Allows the photographer to move without changing move behavior
  7. Sit ball will not move unexpectedly (when rezing a projector or another sitball for example)
  8. Error in projector messaging and movement on a worn projector
  9. Various message cleanups regarding estimated camera position, sitball, and projector movement restrictions
  10. Fixed /43 pose filtering being picked up by other huds in the room
  11. Fixed the preset teleport if camera position is not saved
  12. Cleaned up projector error responses for saving inworld and restoring attached and visa versa.
  13. Attempted fix for lag based issue issue where sometimes the swatches on the first page or set to black (reset race).
  14. If you select a swatch and saturation is < 50% then saturation is set back to 100%
  15. If the light intensity is <0.1 and a color swatch is selected, the intensity is set high
  16. Pressing the stop button now unlocks the camera
  17. Projector menu says "lock" and "unlock"vs before always saying lock.
  18. When you start moving the projector it defaults the color menus over to the projector
  19. Pressing the power button hides the wearable ball lights as well as cutting the intensity to all lights
  20. If the model crashes, the projector no longer goes crazy and attempts to move to location 0,0,0;

2016 beta4

Thank you again everyone for all your support during the beta progress.  I believe there will be probably a beta5 and possibly a beta6 before production.  This release had a huge and painful thing happen every scripter hates which is the preset save/restore script ran out of memory.  I had to create a second script and work out a way to push data back and forth between two scripts.  It was about 20 hours of unplanned work.  lol  but i think its back up and working and working well. It also gives plenty of memory so i won't have this problem again (knock on wood).

We have had 29 beta reports given and this release coveres several of them.  Beta 5 will address the rest.

We had 3 beta testers get confused about the unlock button.  I'm going to rework the icon on the interface to be better.  But when you restore a camera preset your camera position is "locked" and even if the avi walks around the camera wont budge.  pressing the unlock button on the preset card (bottom right) unocks your camera.  I also have the camera unlock on a teleport.

Keep the beta reports coming.  Even if your report is "things are great" that helps.

Beta4 fix list
  1. Added second script to give more memory to save presets
  2. Display names vs unique names used on display for projector, give lights, and HUD model display vs
  3. Preset eye animation save reports "not set" if eye animation selected then stopped now as expected
  4. Backup server now allows restoring presets from a friend's server.  Just have the friend click the backup server and restore presets to their hud.
  5. Sit ball won't move more than 20 meter from where rezzed.  This is good when you start at a skybox and then try to restore a sitball position on the ground.
  6. Sit ball preset save wont save if the avi isn't actually sitting on the ball
  7. Sit ball no longer sizes as expected
  8. Sit ball no longer responds to touch for movement
  9. Camera position is calculated only after the sitball has been moved.
  10. Restore will attempt and warn if the camera was restored in a different sit ball state than the restore
  11. Region names with spaces in them now work on the advanced preset/teleport
  12. Projector restores all light/bulb/gobo settings even if position is not able to be restored
  13. Adjust click position on sliders advanced to allow triangle to bring out advanced similar to presets
  14. Help about "light details" removed color/sliders/advanced reports all the same information and reduces local chat
  15. Minor hud distortion making buttons not round fixed.  The hud looks like it went on a diet.
  16. "pick me up and wear me" display text only displays while on the ground and not when worn (allows greater hud movement)
  17. Misc spelling errors fixed
  18. Animation preset save working without changing models.

2016 beta3

thanks to all the beta testers.  You guys are a life saver.

Beta3 is released.  it is about 95% feature complete. The biggest open item i have is the preset save/restore script itself is getting so large there isn't sufficient room to save all 9 presets so i get the fun (yay me) of breaking the script into a dialog script and a storage mule script.  That will probably take me at least through mid next week to get going.

Beta3 fix list:
  • Camera is unlocked on a teleport
  • Camera relative position is calculated if the camera restore is > 2 m from the save position.  Very cool!
  • Fixed 2 o'clock and 5 o'clock joystick buttons (closer/farther)
  • Added gears menu (advanced options) to the presets menu
  • Added front hud power button.  Fast shutting off of lights for a model (example when teleporting to a   sim that gets angry that you're wearing lights)
  • Backup/restore prim changed to something smaller
  • Ball size now only changes on an explicit change request.  Bug fixed if projector selected
  • Updated face graphics
  • Gobo rotation doesn't reset on a gobo change
  • Intensity close to zero set exactly to zero
  • A projector intensity of zero disables the light (like the wearable balls)
  • LCD help works
  • Moved to display name vs unique name
  • LCD name is limited to 16 characters
Sammie is going to be expanding the beta test group as we gain more confidence the hud is stable and the right interface.

Thank you Beta1 testers.  you guys rock.  Special thanks to Karol, Kerena, queenbmommi, BroderickLogan, and Linc for submitting bug reports.

This is a fast release of beta2 with 14 fixes because there were a few bugs that i considered "pain enough" that it was causing enough enoyances even for myself that i wanted to get the fix out quickly.  To get the update, just wear the beta1 to get the beta2.

remember the backup/restore server works great going from beta to beta.  Steps
1.Wear old hud
2. help button -> options -> rez backup server
3 .help button -> options -> backup
4. detach hold hud, wear new hud
5. help button -> options -> restore

6. wait until it reports complete.
7. Tell Stefan how awesome he is

Beta2 fixed list
 Preset
Gobos are now saved as part of preset save and restore
  Wearable projector position save/restore working
  Restore debug messages removed
 Projector
  Projector hud callup not responding
  Additional gobos and next/prev added
  Bulb button broke
  Wearable projector movement fixed
 Sitball
Sitball rotation on the hud outter left/right controls
Sitball now moves correctly when no one is sitting on it
Only the selected model can sit on the sitball
 Misc
Joystick does not require cycling before working on sitball
Derez now works if there is no model change.
Joystick now supports repetative touch and hold
Attempted fix on joystick flipper not rezzing always.  Lets see if it works

Beta3 is going to focus on giving "relative" camera save/restore capability so that you can restore camera positions in locations other than exactly where the camera was saved.

Keep sending reports even if they are just confirming you've had a good experience.

Thanks again!  ---Stefan

LUMIPro 2016 Beta Video!

Finally!!   LUMIPro 2016 Beta!  Please take a few minutes to watch this video to help brief you on the 2016 release.  We won't be able to get the manual together until formal release, so this is the only way for you to get updated on the new capability and how to use it.  Please let me and Sammie know if anything is confusing. Remember in beta we can change the GUI and what not, so speak up if something is unclear or awkward!  Thank you all so much. (Also look at the prior video for more detail on the camera DOF)

V3.4 Beta1!

Beta time again!!

For customers of lumipro that have owned for a while you're all aware of the beta program.
For new customers of lumipro, i always release updates to lumipro for free and existing lumipro customers are always available to join the beta.  The purpose of the beta program is to give interested customers a chance to try out new features before full release and also help me find bugs.

Watch the video for the briefing and how you can get the beta hud yourself.

I'm looking for bugs and feedback on the interface.  There still bits and pieces of features not fully functional in this release.  I'll get them cleaned up over the next month or so.

Thank you!!!

beta10

I had a customer today really confused with the color picker related to the quick set balls.

I've made a change to the quickset balls where the color is not changed by the quickset.

I added an "x" on the color tab so closing makes more sense
I no longer toggle the flyin/flyout of the color picker and require using the new "x" I created.

little changes :)
